When this happened at the bar I worked at we used a plastic soda straw to get corks out. You bend the bottom three inches or so, slide it under the cork, and pull up. It’s the same idea as the ribbon, but easier because the straw is less flexible making it easier to “hook” the cork.

Broccoli slaw is fine - do NOT buy any bagged stuff. It’s like buying a veggie burger with Velveeta and a soda. (side note: bean burgers with quality cheddar is great.
