And it’s weird because it’s such a reach. Brittany Murphy may have gotten shit from the tabloids and awful people like Perez Hilton, but her life wasn’t an open book the way Spears’s was. Even people who didn’t follow celebrity gossip knew that Britney Spears was having a meltdown. I don’t think you could say the same

I was so very disappointed by this doc. I’ve been waiting for an actual, in depth look/investigation into her, her life, and her death for years. This doc touched on some important things, but then kept veering off and didn’t treat her with any respect whatsoever.

No. Academia. Faculty members just say whatever they want.

When I managed grad students, I did have them *ask* me for advice - specifically female grad students who wanted to know how I managed - and I would be honest about what worked for *me*. However, I never, ever gave unsolicited marital advice. I was there to

I’m shocked, shocked!

“She later told me not to marry my now-husband because he would seriously limit my career growth and ruin my life…”

My boss at the time suggested I read it. I read it.

She later told me not to marry my now-husband because he would seriously limit my career growth and ruin my life (because he already had kids and that was “viewed poorly”).

Ironically, he’s a stay-at-home parent allowing me to chase my dreams in leadership which

I work in IT policy and am visible enough that I do not publicly comment on these things. I work for a company that does not police what I say. I work a lot on local advocacy and state advocacy but not related to the area of policy where I work. It is a big no-no. Being in leadership is complicated and I do not want

I hope all those women who read and raved about Sandberg’s book Lean-in are embarrassed they recommended it to their friends.

Facebook isn’t even trying to be good at dealing with scrutiny!

Literally every other article/news clip I’ve seen about this used the word “misfire” to describe this terrible accident ... but “clicks” I guess

What the actual hell is the tone of this article???

A lot of people commented that that story was so creepy but I found it…uplifting? They ghost loved her neighbor and home so much that she wanted to let her friend know that she had passed on, and then went home.

Same here. I’ve just been selecting “Newest / Pending / Show Pending” each time it does that and start working my way down again.

My favorite one from this year was the “time rub” story, where the author’s grandmother saw her friends, from the future, in her living room during a bad electrical storm. Her friends (in the present day) saw her grandmother, from the past, where her living room used to be at the old farm ruins.

Yea I dont think the show itself was feminist, but it had some “white feminist moments”.

Ooooo!

I think you hit the nail on the head. It’s kind of a shitty trap that I can see a lot of them falling into. Like Oprah, as she mentioned. Or Kirstie Alley. You lose weight and get a sponsor and I would imagine at that point the pressure is immense and the fear of falling off the wagon is immense and it all snowballs

I remember when everyone said they were “Carrie” but I was always like, why? Miranda is where it’s at.

There is a registry for starting a business! My classmate started this and it’s great!

Are there people out there who think the show is feminist? Can I meet these people because I don’t think they exist.
