The internet gave me hints that owning a Gen 1 Insight is a labor of love, but holy shit.

My dad joined the company in 1995 and they have never had forced layoffs. They’ve done early retirement packages and stuff like that in down times, but nothing major.

I don’t disagree. But the people that are willing to give away their dog are not buying it high end dog food.

Every side-show Hellcat just went up in value a little.

Speaking of recession proof companies: pet food. Growing up, by dad was an engineer for a upper tier pet food company. Despite whatever happens with economy, people don’t cut corners with dog food. If they fork out the cash for high end dog food in good times, they don’t change during bad times.

I’m no Nostradamus, but I don’t think the new vehicle side of the market is going to get hit much. Supply is just too low.u

All you have to do is look at the price spread comparing 2-3 year old CPO model versus the brand new model. The spread is as tight as ever, meaning new supply is too low.

Same for my G1 Insight. It is one of the most engaging cars I’ve ever driven. From the outside, it looks like an egg. To drive, it is a joy. I commute 115 miles per day in mine and it never gets old. My commute has turned into a game of “how high can I get my MPG today”. Walking out to it in the morning almost has a

I’m with you 100%. It must be maddening to be a farmer right now. You’ve got containerships moving a million lbs of rubber dog shit from Hong Kong to LA pumping out more emissions per second than we can fathom, but a small time dairy farmer is the problem.

You do realize this isn’t about odor, right?

we can convince the Indians and Chinese to follow suit

Because my life involves a wife, two kids, two dogs, a camper, while living on land in a rural area of the country where we have all four seasons. Hauling kids is just one task we need our vehicle to do.

Personally, I have to force myself to stay away from fast food. It is all so freaking good that I could just gorge myself, Foie Gras style.

I paid $3.89 this morning and it felt GOOOOOD.

I’m in industrial systems sales, and I hear you.

We decided to sell our 2015 Fusion that wasn’t getting driven a lot. I have a commuter I drive during the week, and my wife uses our 2018 F-150 to haul the little ones around.

Coming out of engineering school, I had an excellent offer from an HVAC firm that I was seriously considering. They had full benefits, excellent pay, you name it. Along with that, they provided a company car! None of my other offers had that benefit, so I was really excited!

We just sold our 2015 Titanium Fusion this weekend! We bought it in 2016 and it was an absolutely rock solid family hauler for us. Easily one of the most solid cars I’ve ever bought. Extremely tight suspension, very quiet interior, great power, got 30+ MPG on the highway. In 110k miles, the only part failure was a
