The Mach-E was never intended to be a high volume seller by Ford. More than anything, it was an opportunity for Ford to tool up it’s engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and supplier network for the real show that is the Lightning and others to come after.

Having spent considerable time at the Nestle Purina plant just down the road in Silao, I couldn’t agree more. It’s a different world down there. A job making $3/hr in a plant is a dream for many Mexicans. Many of them are working their fingers to the bone outside in the elements for a fraction of that.

Flying a Caravan over the ocean on an IFR flight plan is a completely different beast as well.

Many Canadians would be very happy to inform you that they don’t live in a utopia either. Everywhere has it’s problems. London is one of the worst places in the world for affordability.

Go spend one day in a country outside of North America or Western Europe and let me know if your opinion hasn’t changed.

You want to know why I never touch crypto?

That’s not how societal growth happens. There was no “plan”, just like there is no plan for how economies will work 100 years from now. ‘

This is my biggest concern. We haven’t seen the true impact of elevated fertilizer costs yet since we are just now entering the planting season in the northern hemisphere.

I’m sorry, but that just isn’t true. There are no Rankine cycle power plants running off diesel. That’s just false. Combustion based power plants either run off natural gas, coal, biofuels, or fuel oil.

This thing is ugly as sin.

Go pull a horse trailer with a 70yo pickup with drum brakes and report back.

And you thought food prices were high before, just wait until the diesel prices really start cranking up shipping costs.

It would probably be a 3-5 year payoff if you daily drove it.

I always wonder, do these rich people actually have drivers? Do they really spend that much time being chauffeured around in the back seat of their 7 series? Your stereotypical surgeon/lawyer 7 series owner isn’t going to have a driver.

I would bet good money this looks awesome in pictures, but looks like every other clapped out fiberglass kit car in person.

Sometimes I wish there was a way to just put vehicles “out to pasture”. They did their job and more, now they can live out their days in comfort and peace.

I am a grown adult who has flown commercially all over the world, and I’m still infatuated with the idea of a two story airplane with a set of stairs. I don’t know if I’ll ever fly in a 747, but I still look at them the same way I did as a kid. Airplanes are cool, but the 747 was something special.

I hope Jim Farley is fully aware that failure is still on the table with the Lightning. If this thing launches with no supply chain to support it, it’ll fall flat on it’s face. You can only live off of pre-orders for so long. If you really want to sweep up the EV market like this truck has the real potential to do,

That literally sounds like prison.
