If we were voting on the worst era for Jalopnik web design, the slideshow era would win hands down.

This is critical context. I was not aware this is a thing, so I figured it was cobbled together. Knowing it’s very common and relatively straightforward makes me not worry about the quality.
The GT “grille” completely transforms the front of the Mach-E.
There should almost be another term for this size truck. For people doing light DIY work, it will be just fine. Bags of mulch, occasional lumber, bikes, just things that you don’t want to dirty up the back of an SUV with. That is the perfect fit for this.
Are you kidding me? The Santa Cruz can’t even fit one bike in it’s bed and gets half the MPG the Maverick gets.
It fits with Ford’s current design direction. Beats modern Chevy front ends.
That is a lot of truck with zero miles and full warranty for $30k...
Interest rates do need to go up, though. Inflation while interest rates are at historic lows is unnerving.
Counterpoint: Traditional automakers can offer vehicles at comparable prices to Tesla with multiple middlemen taking profits along the ways. This results in additional jobs and income for literally thousands of dealership employees that wouldn’t have a job otherwise.
I specifically remember the economic fearmongering at the early days of the Obama administration. Exact same stuff, government overspending will lead to hyper inflation.
The way I look at it, major car companies entering the EV market is comparable to “Okay, the kids have had their fun. It’s time for the adults to take over.”
Someone needs to tell Elon that it’s okay to just say “Actually guys, nevermind. This one is a bad idea”.
So now we know why Ford axed their entire car lineup. They aren’t staying out of cars, they are just going all in on EVs.
My buddy spent $40k on a brand new F-150 STX SuperCrew in contractor white. The thing is literally just a XL with a couple furnishing that make it feel less like a work truck. No thank you.
Ahh, yes. Nothing brings people together and tears down barriers like outright calls to violence.
I think you’re on the right track, but I wouldn’t want it integrated into the trailer itself because that would put the design in the trailer OEM’s scope. I would want an aftermarket battery add on that could be retrofitted onto a trailer or camper. If I could buy a 50 kWh additional battery and add it to my trailer…
I’m going to put this blame on ATC. Far too much congestion on those radios. For airspace as busy as Denver’s, you can’t have hand wavy instructions and chatter all over the radios.
It’s all fun and games laughing at these idiots panic buying until your gas light comes on and theres no gas at the pump to turn it off.
I don’t want to rub it in anyones face, but here in Kansas I would almost go as far to say that things are “normal”.
