Haven't made it that far but now I am scared.

I think most Colossus battles in Shadow of the Colossus were immensely frustrating before being cathartic and amazing once you win. I hate to love that game. Can't think of the worst Colossus though.

I never had problems with that, if I remember right you jump a bit higher, or slower? I just hopped along the path.

I couldn't do the train mission. Gave up the game then and there and never looked back. The fail text is probably what riled me up enough to be unable to focus. I think bad fail screens play a big role in shitty mission/levels.

Jabu-Jabu was definitely unclear and annoying (especially dragging that girl around) but after a few playthroughs its pretty easy. I think its annoying because it seems to be much longer and more complex than the pretty simple first two temples.

That's where MGS5 is great - besides the horrific checkpoint system that can royally fuck you, it's overall pretty easy to get out of any situation and reassess what to do from afar and go back in once the dust has settled. In the older games when you get spotted you just hide in a corner for a while or have to push

*ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN, CJ*

Yeah, considering the earlier games had overall pretty good boss fights, the lack of them in AK was really disappointing. I mean, I'm fucking Batman, why am I not facing supervillains one-on-one?

That's inherent in virtually all criticism. The real discussion comes from the retrospectives down the road. But that immediate reaction is still important and relevant. It's always worth framing art in that context: Citizen Kane flopped initially, no one cared about Kafka until after his death, Van Gogh, etc etc.

Depends on what you are looking for in the book, I suppose. The structure of The Hobbit gives it less urgency that LotR and is essentially one independent setpiece to the next in a string of them that only stops when you run out of pages.

Silmarillion is like the Middle-Earth Old Testament, "ehhh, we'll just summarize it for you"

So, not much happens in Chicago eh…

Seem to be doubling down on the "not TKOL" sound for this one.

Time has passed us by, friend.

This article and comments are gonna look real weird in like 10 years.

Says you!!

Do you mean least favourite, ever… or of that era? Because I tried watching some of his 80s stuff…. King Lear… oh boy.

It reminds me of what Roger Ebert wrote about John Wayne, "He was a born conservative, but in an old-fashioned, simple and patriotic way. I believe he would have had contempt for the latter-day weirdos of the Right."
