I hope I’m allowed to post this here, the culprit in person, the first television anime in the world (it’s the English dub, I couldn’t find a Japanese version).
Incidentally, I just heard a lecture on the history of Japanese animation by Ilan Nguyen of Tokyo Arts University. He also talked about the creation of the Atom anime, the first serialized television cartoon.
Well, given her history, you might have a chancewith her if you’re patient enough.
I’d add “Memory of a Memory” as well, it’s a really neatly structured episode with topical social message, neat worldbuilding depth and crazy visuals. (In sequence it goes between “It Came from the Nightosphere” and “I Remember You”
One more thing I tremendously enjoy in AT (as a 38-year old guy) is the utter unpredictability of the storytelling, and the way as the experimenting in structure gets bolder with time. (Lead writer, Jesse Moynihan recently said that they are consciously trying to cut down exposition and leave the stories and events…
Puttimg in teh Marceline song collection gives away a few huge spoilers...
Exactly. And also, let’s just not forget, that apparently she has created all the candy people, and has been a ruler of her land for a millenium. Things seem to point in the direction that she is solely responsible for the rise of peace and order in the whole of Ooo after the chaos in the aftermath of the war.
Well, there ARE an awful lot of materials in the Silmarillion, you could make a whole Harry Potter out of it, if you went about it the PJ way - A couple of moviess can pass even before the elves just set foot on Middle-Earth.
If they ever got the funding for that, a Silmarillion TV miniseries would be a great way to go…
I don't think it's about knowing better - it's more of an experiment. The films are obviously diluted and expanded to tie in with larger Middle-earth history and the LotR. The edits try to bring it closer to the book. They don't criticise the vision, only the focus.
Also, the originals won't go away - it's not the…
I1m too busy to dig around for info, so I'll just ask.
it MUST HAPPEN. else there's no justice in the world. Mind you, I'd be perfectly happy just to watch this two sit down in a cafe and talk about the weather for 45 minutes every week.
Ah, Dina Meyer, the feisty redhead from Starship Troopers, Johnny Mnemonic and Dragonheart - a gal who singlehandedly tackled female lead in three major geek genres in the course of three meager years only to disappear without a trace...
I still remember her fondly.
It is, absolutely, along with Anpanman and dozens of kids' cartoons . I have the feeleing this poll needs to be understood as "what was the anime that turned you into an otaku?"
(Anime ni hamaru kikkake - the basic point (apropos, source) of you becoming addicted to(fellen into) anime
It's worth taking a look at the original poll, too (in Japanese, tho), there are options to break down the results into male, female, teenage, over 20 and over 30 categories, too.
PIKIINYA!
Not exactly a new game, but I found it way back, when I was looking for interesting Japanese games to try on the PC SNES emulator. Turns out this was a rather brilliant Tetris clone with different game modes that had me (an adult nearing 30) sticked to the screen for weeks. Especially the racing mode has a…
There's a modern classic for this (though not exactly with SETI)

okay, that leads to the question - are tits as sensitive to hitting as balls? As a guy, I wouldn't know, but I have a feeling it's not quite the same.
