I get the idea the MCU has tried to incorporate humanity more in their recent projects for the above reason - the  Eternals was about what humanity teaches robotic beings (or what have you), with a prominent human character; Shang Chi had  one of the more prominent human characters with the Awkafina role and only had

Yes, he just kept flailing all through the season - with Kendall, his grandfather, and the ridiculous dating schemes that he  was going through mostly to paint himself as a lothario and dashing social climber (if the contessa is similar to many Euro-royals, then Greg probably has more money than she does...). The

I think his reactions in that episode were key to his finale decision. When he learned he wouldn’t have to go to prison, he ran to Greg, but he was also surprised when Logan took the time to clutch his hand and say it wouldn’t be forgotten. Shiv, meanwhile, just could not find any happiness over his reprieve - hell,

I was mostly confused as to how Matthew Macfadyen was shut out, but maybe the Morning Show producers took them on a fancy trip? (to be fair, Mark Duplass was praising Macfadyen on Twitter yesterday).

I agree. That could also be one of the reasons why I think you can glimpse a bit of sorrow in Tom’s eyes at the moments where Greg is the man Tom helped him further toward becoming - like when he asked Tom to take his share of the blame for the cruise fiasco, or even last night. A part of him probably hopes Greg will

Those are good insights. I know some think Shiv may be pregnant, so if she is I guess that will really shake things up for the relationship, if she keeps the baby.

I tend to believe the producers when they say they were mostly planning for 3 seasons anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple TV is desperate enough for programming to try a spinoff of Roy Kent (if Apple TV is still around by that point).

It’s difficult to know just how the show intended the Tom and Greg relationship in the first two seasons. Scenes like Tom hurling water bottles at Greg were definitively abusive, but not treated seriously because at that time their interactions were more classified as comedy. It’s also difficult to gauge because

Great picks (especially Matthew Macfadyen). I would add Phil Dunster. Some might argue Ted Lasso rushed Jamie Tartt’s redemption arc, or made a bit of a mess of it at times, but Phil effortlessly played the pain and trauma of Jamie alongside a genuinely loveable goofiness, in everything from perfect boy band

I think Sarah’s a decent pick. She has a very chaotic, risque energy for the corporate SNL, when she gets the rare opportunity - that whole Update appearance ran on the expectation, fear or hope that she would say something to get them yanked off the air. Yet she also has good comic chops and can blend into scenes

I think just the brief moments Greg would say “You OK, Tom?” and seem to be concerned for him were all that Tom needed to connect himself with Greg. He wants Greg to be like him and he wants to be like Greg and he just needs a happier relationship away from all the baggage and crippling expectation. Nicholas Braun

Yes. This is why when I see those “Shiv is going to go Gone Girl” takes, I feel like most of that is just based on easy stereotypes. Tom was probably the one who fit more into those patterns over the last few seasons - a partner who thought they could handle the realities of the marriage but buckled after being made

“Boo souls” is one of the most perfect lines, and line readings, for this show. When Greg said it, I laughed a bit, yet also felt queasy. “Good” Greg fully taking off the shackles of self-righteousness, giving himself permission to roll in the mud he was already neck-deep in. The ethos of this show - horrible people

You have more experience with tiktok than I do (I have seen some but it’s kind of tough to figure all that out), but I mostly just liked it as a glimpse at different facets of modern social media life and I liked the slick editing. A while back I was watching an old episode of Tush, a sketch comedy show from the ‘80s,

I agree with you about this type of humor with SNL, most notoriously seen with Gen Z Hospital last season. One of the reasons I enjoyed the tiktok piece is because I didn’t think they were mocking or trying to pander as much this time - I felt like they were just trying to show a day in the life of a kid looking

Unfortunately the show does not like cast members memorizing lines, because of last minute changes. I blame the direction more than anything on this being such an obvious issue. Alex Moffat is one of the most polished cast members so I can’t put the Christmas card messups on him.

I think they were both meant to be bad. That’s why they work for me - he’s just playing some ordinary guy who is trying to be Homer.

Due in part to the smaller  cast, Kristen tended to really suffocate, especially the female ensemble. I don’t think she did so intentionally, it just happened. Kate has also been oppressive at times, but one of the benefits of such a huge cast is you never be as oppressive.

It was Billie, not Chloe, who played Melissa’s nasty high school classmate.

I agree with you there. Unfortunately, the nuance went out the window and you had blue checks on Twitter claiming the cast loathes Strong.
