Welcome to an litigious society that doesn’t give women any benefit of the doubt.  The standards for proving her allegations are too high relative to the ability to make her life hell for “slander”.

Dude is getting paid 10s of millions of dollars for each Thor appearance at this point, focusing on “need” versus “want” in that scenario is pretty pointless.  Acting is a job!

Its the double-edged sword of being a tech company first and entertainment company second. They’re easily the best in terms of UI, clearly have the most sophisticated algorithms and machine learning for recommendations, and have all the benefits associated from maturity as a platform. But they’ve always been

I’d say DiMaggio is entirely in a win scenario and is leveraging his strength accordingly. FOX/Hulu can threaten to recast, but fans are clearly against it for obvious and deserved reasons.  Going on without him will completely kneecap the relaunch and he knows it, so he is negotiating for what he’s worth.  FOX/Hulu

Movie release schedules aren’t exactly in his control, especially during COVID.  I know that perception of him doesn’t entirely map to “how the sausage gets made”, but people don’t have to entirely ignore it either.

I mean, since Hamilton he’s been primary composer for Moana (huge hit, significant musical evolution from In the Heights/Hamilton) and this. He’s ubiquitous, sure, but composing for two movies in 7-8 years is hardly oversaturation.

Other that he’s just otherwise focused on a broader range of acting/directing/whatever

And yet you feel the need to comment about your lack of interest or contribution.

Cool.

#ReleaseThePenisCut and #UncutHenryCavill have great Snyder synergy.

“Snyder as architect” had been pre-determined by WB/Nolan braintrust. The middling box office and bad reviews after the first two films lead to WB’s cold feet, which in turn lead to their greater editorial interference. If he hadn’t left JLA, he’d have been fired.

The one great comfort is that “the bean counters don’t forget”. Snyder-Cut definitely benefited from the low bar from Whedon, but MoS and BvS still didn’t make the bank WB required. No amount of revisionist history and hindsight analysis will paper over the lack of box office returns that will ultimately guide DC

Dan has written several terrible columns on trans issues in the past, full of shit advice and hateful language, and plenty of the twitter threads had links/receipts. I’ve tried to “shades of gray” his actions too, but his record of being at best a shitty advocate for trans people and at worst an active transphobe has

AKA Editorial independence from the business unit (especially the business unit at fucking G/O media) is a good thing.

The “serially cheating and gaslighting his wife for many many years” story was a pretty clear sign that Whedon is a massive turd of a person.

Because power dynamics are intrinsic to comedy.

Something to realize though: the show was almost ENTIRELY written by two guys. Jackson and Doc Hammer were the heart, soul, brains, everything. Two dude’s who’d never done anything like it just making each other laugh and layering on infinite gobstopper levels of jokes. This is a love affair, and its an unparalleled

That’s not at all how animation character development works. Voice actors have TREMENDOUS impact on the character and writing, they typically record in advance of animation and are given a huge degree of leeway to play around in the booth to help them fully develop the character and find their “voice”. Their

The sketch used blackface knowingly as an attempt to punch up, skewering both white privilege and police brutality. There was no racial stereotyping, and people of color weren’t the butt of the joke. Its akin to Tropic Thunder, and it is 100% fine.

Nah, she doesn’t care about the money. She wants agency and respect, slobs versus snobs. That’s what keeps her and Jimmie together, that underdog pack mentality.
