He didn't get fired because of his personal beliefs. He got fired because he contributed to a hateful discriminatory campaign designed to strip people of their legal marriages, and then tried to be the public face of a company that prides itself on equality.

Yes, they support people in love getting married regardless if they're straight or gay. And also, we don't talk of 'tolerance' of gay or lesbians, we talk of acceptance. There's nothing to tolerate.

I can tolerate a difference of opinion a hell of a lot more than I can tolerate actively working against someone's civil rights. The dude is free to think it's wrong for gays to marry. I could not care less about his personal opinion. I care very much about legalizing discrimination based on that opinion.

I know you're probably a troll, but I will reply anyways. I don't claim to be tolerant at all. There are many people I fucking despise. Like you!

I love how open and tolerant liberals are.

Ah, and here we go with "You are totally a hypocrite because of how I bet you would react in a scenario I made up." Keep going, I've almost got bingo.

Ah, we got straight to the bullshit "Obama supported Prop 8" meme in record time. You are not terribly good at this, little guy.

tolerant ≠ tolerant of discrimination

You mean how we don't like people that discriminate? Yeah, I'm pretty intolerant of those that would take rights away from others, you would be correct.

I love how conservatives are too dumb to understand what "tolerance" means.

this is a man who is working to stop me from getting married and paid for commercials that imply I'm a pedophile. That sounds like someone who is out to get me. The work he did isn't just a political dispute, it's a direct attack on me. Why would I tolerate it? It's like saying I should tolerate a punch in the face.

Yes, liberals are intolerant of intolerance. Next.

I love how conservatives think private companies should be forced to keep employing someone when they hate the right people.

Rust might also argue that if you read some Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, Cormac McCarthy, Carson McCullers, Richard Wright, Larry Brown, Dorothy Allison, and many more, you'll see that these depictions of the south have a long and complex history in fiction, and to point the finger at True Detective is probably a

You don't even need to go to high minded mini-series here. How many millions of episodes of Law and Order are there?

Ummm...I would have thought that the show was more critical of the way in which the poor are disenfranchised. The missing women and children could be written off with "report filed in error" by those who orchestrated the cover-up, and their loved ones didn't have the juice to push matters. The whole cult was based

SHUT UP THE WIRE NEVER EXISTED WHAT SHUT UP

Seriously. It's rare to see a negative portrayal of New York? LA? The most critically acclaimed show in TV history is one about how fucked up and terrible the drug war has made major cities.

"It's rare to see negative portrayals of large cities on television or in the movies"

actually, studies seems to indicate the opposite being the case. Unfortunately, child pornography is in fact not a victimless crime and is as such not exactly a viable option for lowering child abuse
