Sad that it isn't a high priority, because in 20 years we are go to be up to our elbows in old people with all kinds of diseases, including Alzheimers. Getting adequate elder care here is terriblely difficult, even if you have money and good insurance.

Having watched an in-law pass away from this disease, I can say that it's one of the most devistating things for a family to have to live through. My husband has a big chance of getting it himself (3 out of 4 grandparents had it..yikes) so we're both a little scared.
