No but you know his ears just perked up at the sound of the word “wood”.

Volumes of what? Please enlighten me. I’m curious and somewhat confused as to how pacifism is suddenly suspicious and warrants veiled accusations of racism on Jezebel...
The police murdered Freddie Gray. I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. I’m not denying the racism or the injustice, I’m saying I don’t condone violence as a response to it. I didn’t know pacifism meant that I was somehow sympathetic to the Baltimore police department. Learn something every day...
You don’t have to convince me. And by the way, I’m not even American. But how do you think the average person in the middle of the country is interpreting the coverage of the Baltimore riots?
Hey, I didn’t write the law.
there is something wrong with the public.
It’s not just a criminal act, it’s murder. And torture. And a lot of other things too I’m sure. And I absolutely hope someone gets charged for it. But that doesn’t justify violence and rioting. I understand why it’s happening but understanding isn’t the same as justification.
If the public sees a CVS on fire and is suddenly totes fine with the state executing its people without recourse, the public is a fistful of douchebags and can go fuck itself with its support.
Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not telling you how to do anything, I’m just saying there’s a difference between rioting and a protest and I wouldn’t want my kid risking his life in a riot either. And whether it’sBaltimore or the London or Paris riots, while the anger and frustration is more than justified and I…
Kinda difficult with the rioting distracting public attention. It’s not fair and I agree the media should be responsible in how it covers these events and yes, I understand the frustration that led up to it but there’s nothing like violent rioting to derail a conversation and kill the public’s sympathy.
Can someone please give writers at Jezebel a dictionary, so that they can learn the difference between peaceful protesting and violent protesting/rioting? Because one is an acceptable way of voicing dissent and the other is a criminal act.
That’s the thing: it’s not a pot-shot, I like Angelina just fine but I don’t think she’s particularly talented as an actress and I especially don’t think she’s a good director and I think both her movies are overrated, overly earnest Oscar bait and that if it weren’t for her connections and humanitarian persona, they…
No. If you’re in college and you’re there to learn, you should be open to literature on even the most difficult subjects, whether that’s sexual assault, war crimes, etc. In fact, I specifically don’t think they belong in universities/academia. It’s not about “happy surprises” or not, it’s about universities being…
I was just messing with you!
Why on earth would a young actress want to work with one of the most acclaimed directors of our time known for featuring actresses in prominent roles? It’s practically career suicide. She should hire you as her agent.
Just Bananas? Woody Allen is one of my favorite directors which I’m sure makes me as reprehensible as Pol Pot in the eyes of many Jez commenters. Luckily I have no ducks to give and will continue to enjoy the movies that I enjoy regardless of the private life of the people directing them.
Trigger warnings are a bad idea outside of small, private spaces like sexual assault victim support groups and super radical feminist websites that I don't want to hang out in anyway. Anything can be a trigger warning and you can't be such a control freak and a killjoy, even if you've deluded yourself into thinking…
Her name is Mamie? Of course she’s bitter and hates dong.
... and the women directors getting a lot of attention aren’t even the most talented ones. (I’m talking to you, Angelina Jolie). It’s sad all around.
Seriously. She is perfection in that dress.
