I didn’t get around to seeing the Lobster but I really want to see this. Olivia Colman is magnificent in everything I’ve seen her in and she looks amazing here too.

Hmm, that could also be the case. I feel like the ladies in that dorm were such a weird mix of SUPER uptight people and people like my friend, who thought it was all so weird.

Oh my heck! I should’ve known you’d show up with a vintage lesbian potboiler for us. :D

Excellent, well written review.  Can't wait to see this.

This is correct. I visited once knowing someone that lived there.

I didn’t even have to read past the headline to know that this would be Scottish Rite. Oh man, that place is crazy. My friend lived there, because her (very well off but apparently pretty shitty) aunt had been a resident there, and told my friend that she would gladly pay all tuition and residential fees to UT . . .

The joy of Netflix is that their micro-targeted ad campaigns means I had no idea this was still on. Carry on, whoever is watching this!

The State school doesn’t really have any connection to the private dorm as far as the article above states. UT doesn’t own the dorm and it is off campus. It may run afoul of housing discrimination, but that has nothing to do with UT. They don’t control what private landlords do off campus.

I don’t think the school is utilizing it. It seems like a place where rich, overprotective parents can send their sheltered kids so they don’t have to live in one of those shitty “public” dorms (aka the “fun dorms” we all remember so fondly).

There is no more reason to assume that women using premium Snapchat aren’t filing taxes with any more frequency than folks who use other online employment services like Uber, Patreon or TaskRabbit, but I’d bet good money these dudes don’t go around reporting every Uber driver they encounter to the IRS.

At least the sex workers are providing an useful service. Before taxing them, how about starting with taxing the churches?

a broken sexual marketplace that is rigged in the favor of females.”

I tell you what, if I made a quarter of a million back when I was single I would be so happy I wouldn’t have worried about a 1% tax increase.

Yeah, I have a hard time telling what’s worse about that infographic: the fact that every one of these ultra-wealthy future millionaires look like extras in Les Miserables, or the fact that the only people who are described as not getting their taxes raised are the black people. It’s one of those pictures where every

There’s never a bad time to mention exactly what the Wall Street Journal describes as the middle-class:

100% agree. The goal is to regulate women’s sexuality and reproduction, and I say this as someone who was raised in ultraconservative circles, and had people try to recruit me for harassing women outside of abortion clinics (my parents were ultraconservative but wouldn’t let me because they thought it was too dangerous

Oof. Matt Oswalt is proof that the Oswalts just got the “funny” gene.

Scott Walker is out so I’m happy about that.

You don’t mention it, but Lucy McBath currently holds a 2,100-vote lead over Karen Handel in the Georgia Sixth, which is the district I live in and which went to (disgraced former HHS Secretary) Tom Price by 20 points in 2016. Before Price held the seat, it was held by Johnny Isakson. And before that, Newt Gingrich.
