There is literally nothing in the bible about wedding cakes. Wedding cakes are not part of biblical marriage. Selling your daughters for goats, sure, but no cake.

L’Wren Scott also.

This is so sad. She must’ve been in so much pain. My heart goes out to her husband, daughter, family and friends. I still have and wear my original Kate Spade Messenger Bag from 20 years ago. Kate Spade Backpacks were everything. KS was an icon who built an empire that was able to reinvent itself over time. RIP

This is so sad. I adore her and her designs are one of the reasons I met my best friend in college. I listened to her on NPR’s “How I Built This” and was amazed and how she and her husband worked together and created her label.

Also, the poor housekeeper who found her.

I saw this this morning and was pretty shocked. I used to be quite the sorority girl in college and had Kate Spade everything, I admired that she had built this company herself. Makes me think of how long ago that was.

My favorite designer— her brand exudes joy and whimsy.

I took a mental health day off of work today because I have been so stressed and depressed. I haven’t been suicidal in several years (shout out to pharmaceuticals and therapy!) and I’m not now, but definitely feeling the overwhelming weight of things. Thankfully I have a job where I have such the luxury.

Maybe because she’s my age and I love her designs, this really hit me hard.

Pretty much the same way Alexander McQueen killed himself.

Just awful. Going to show that ‘having it all’ does not equate happiness, this also makes me think how hard it must to outwardly ‘have it all’ and feel like you have to hide your distress or conform to some notion of how people think you should feel.

God this....if someone who has everything, who has achieved success and financial security and all her dreams still goes this way...what hope have I got? I fear my depression means I’m doomed in the end.

Rest in peace, Kate. You brought joy and color and life and fun and whimsy to a lot of people, thus making their lives better. Wherever you are now, I hope you are at peace.

This breaks my heart.

Soooooo, if I asked him to bake a cake for my upcoming wedding (being held at a nature center), would he say no since the ceremony is not going to be religious? Probably not, since I’m a woman marrying a man. If he caught wind of who is marrying us (our good friend who also happens to be a transwoman), maybe?

A wedding is an inherently religious event

“I have nothing against gay people, it’s just I think they’re disgusting heathens who should stop tipping and dipping and go back in the closet.” At least he didn’t add that some of his best friends are gay.

Religious Evangelicals do really love their porn.

How about a Shyamalon twist where a person goes around and tells all the Evangelical Christians to simply be good people, accept others for who they are, and not use their religion as a bludgeon to get what they want when what they want is antithetical to the teachings of their religion. The twist is that they kill

Can someone make a movie that by all appearances seems to be one of these films, but has a huge Shyamalan twist where they all decide that Christianity is a farce. Maybe God comes down from heaven and tells them that they get all of his messages wrong and will be damned to hell for eternity?
