Great comment!

I feel like it is a version of #AllLivesMatter

what is his racial background?

Yay!!!!!!

Blaine is the twitter threatener right? Too convenient otherwise that she should get threats after saying she was still spooked.

Yes Yes!
She is a force: the only woman in the play and she wiped the men off the stage each time. Powerful, beautiful and committed. Really. I was bawling so much at the end.

It was rebar from the concrete construction.

Good for you. Best wishes for the future.

Saw her in Saint Joan and she blew me away. What a fine piece of writing and what a fine performance.

I don't think that's fair - Chabon is a humanist. Franzen is just watching us all from behind 10cm thick glass.

I can't say that I am a great student of Hemingway so I won't tread into solnit's comments about him, but your comment about Fitzgerald's prose lacking the power to communicate is flabbergasting. Thanks for sharing - I didn't read the beach scene as particularly advocating that mothers should be solely responsible for their children. Rather that, this is time the women have free, and they choose to spend it all together, and they choose to spend it in nature - which is free and unburdened by the status-anxiety

This is great analysis. Thank you.
