I always read the Pa Ingalls had a complex about being his own man and felt smothered by community rules and laws. He was a Libertarian before we knew what that was.

Also I really want to know if Velveeta is sold in Australia under some other name - is it Kraft cheese? does anyone know?

This is how most folks make the basic two-ingredient queso: Take a pound of Velveeta. Chop it up, put it in a double boiler, then pour a can of Rotel and heat it on low, stirring everything together. That’s the baseline. And then you can throw different things in it.
