Jeeps, nearly all of them, suck at non-Jeep stuff. The 4-door Wrangler is borderline too big for off-roading, the Gladiator is well over that line. So you get a Jeep that doesn’t even Jeep, and the price is outrageous!

I'd say price is more of the problem than configuration. It takes the complaint about midsize truck prices and ramps it up anot 20%. So now you're really in nice RAM pickup territory so if you're so so on the jeep aspect your probably going to pass. If the Gladiator gets the V8 this might shift, but in midsize truck

There’s a reason this joke exists:

The sight of these would be terrifying. See a flying tank on the battle field? Run like hell. Until you see it try to land and it just turns into a ball of fire.

Once you blow it out of the water it’d be the original UFO.

There’s also Object 279, the saucer tank built to withstand a nuclear blast.

In the pre-aviation era, i wonder if these prompted a series of reports of “floating saucer” sightings.

It’s good to experiment

Late Imperial Russia had the best crazy weapon designs.

Yeah, I didn’t really understand the harping on manufacturing complexity. These vehicles are, and will continue to be, proof-of-concept vehicles trying to get the right mix of sensors for maximum cost/benefit ratio.

Might have been a bit strong on that one. My bad.

But yeah, customers generally think the entire vehicle is made by Ford. (Ford, of course, realizes this).

Upon arriving at Chrysler as a young enginerd, I myself was surprised by just how much of vehicle development is “farmed out.”

The customer doesn’t give a damn which supplier makes it.

A lot of commenters on here are going to be like “well what did you expect form these people?” and there’s something there but think about it this way: if not one points out that it’s fucked up to venerate toys built by fascists to congratulate other fascists on how fascist they are, these people will just keep doing

Ralph’s a nice dude who probably didn’t deserve that. He wasn’t the lead designer of the 06 Charger anyway, but instead was the lead designer of the 300 at the time. He didn’t have much say in the initial design of the Charger.

Had to get rid of the CJ7. Mom got in, put the seatbelt on and the whole rail it was attached to came off in her hand.

I’d prefer to read Gilles’ account of the weird psychopath who left him a voicemail that one time

I’m always astounded that real people spend their own money on Mitsubishis.

Mine is a roast fail;
