At least this is the way it is structured here in NY. DA’s are elected officials and ADA’s are “at-will” appointed…

District Attorneys are elected officials in local government. Just like other elected officials (i.e. County Executives, local Mayors, legislators, etc.) they are subject to the same public outcry to explain their actions in their official capacity. Whether or not they chose to do so, and how they do so, though, is up…
