The study ranks it the lowest, since there's pluses and minuses on the grades I'm imagining the grades are arrived at based on a points system, and LA has the lowest F of all the F states. Still a big old shit sandwich.

You're probably right about it sucking...The ranking might be similar or different, but for the most part this study measures things that impact women specifically/disproportionately. It does measure poverty rate for women, which would obviously be affected by just having a high poverty rate in the state overall. But…

If you look at it that way, the division becomes even wider.

I'd like to pretend I analyzed this data soberly and intellectually, trying to determine what it means for us as a nation.

But actually I did the same thing I think all of us did first—-looked up my home/current state to see how it ranked.
