Quite frankly, you value your work more when you're paid to do it anyway. People produce better output when they're treated like people.

Hear hear. I'm also bothered by internships that don't offer pay, but college credit. You mean I can work for free AND pay my school thousands of dollars (dollars that I probably got in loans) for this "class?" Where do I sign up?!

Yeah can we just put that sentence on billboards across the country until everyone has heard it enough for it to be normalized?

If so I would like to avoid the people who complain their dog doesn't move enough during sex.

"This isn't a strength based thing. It's about intent. The intent to hurt (physically) a person you are supposed to love and who is supposed to be able to trust you. The second that fist is in the air you have damaged that trust."

Very well said.

Ssssseriously? You need this explained to you?

Can I move to Texas, vote really quick, then move back?

Ahh. I went by the results of the 2012 election, Kentucky went red then.

Every now and then I feel sad about being single. Then I hear about this shit and I'm content to wait for a decent match.

Aww.

IL's statistics are always heavily biased to the Chicago area, though. Go too far out of it and you're in the south, only without the great food.

I'm commenting to bump. Thanks for posting these links.

The study ranks it the lowest, since there's pluses and minuses on the grades I'm imagining the grades are arrived at based on a points system, and LA has the lowest F of all the F states. Still a big old shit sandwich.

You're probably right about it sucking...The ranking might be similar or different, but for the most part this study measures things that impact women specifically/disproportionately. It does measure poverty rate for women, which would obviously be affected by just having a high poverty rate in the state overall. But

If you look at it that way, the division becomes even wider.

I'd like to pretend I analyzed this data soberly and intellectually, trying to determine what it means for us as a nation.

But actually I did the same thing I think all of us did first—-looked up my home/current state to see how it ranked.

(A B+ is good, but it still means there's room for improvement, Illinois!)

Gonna quote a white supremacist on this one: There's still a kid out there.

Put me there too! The only things he does that are annoying make sense based on the fact that 1) he's a teenager and 2) 90% of the time he has no idea what's going on.

There was an evil little part of me that wanted both him AND Holly to die and for it to be unambiguously, 100% Walt's fault. Just to completely deflate

You ARE reminding me that the giant Chekov's gun of the ricin is still floating around. I'd forgotten that Walt got it from the outlet at the beginning of the season.
