i saw that reddit post and watched the video and didn’t find them annoying at all. from what i remember, most people were complaining about them not getting it word-for-word perfect when talking in unison.

I had to get guard dogs because every time I’d leave my house a bunch of Italians would come and start building cathedrals in my back yard. It’s like “what the fuck can’t you guys go teach Martians Italian?!”

To be fair I do think his point was that Italian explorers went to work for Spain (and Portugal too) because “Italy” didn’t hire them. Like, in his imagination, there are all these explorers hanging around but the “Italian” government cares more about cathedrals and won’t pay them. So he knew the first part.
