if you go out west they have tarantuala hawks. its an even bigger wasp than a cicada killer and they do the same thing as cicada killers, only with tarantuala. and i think their sting is supposedly the second worst only behind bullet ants, so worse than velvet ants.

the ones i see are brighter red. i thought it was some big red beetle from a distance. like the king kong of lady bugs or something. when i got closer i noticed it was fluffy like it was spray painted bumble bee running around.

this velvet ant he has here looks way less fuzzy than the ones i see around here in kentucky. it looks like his velvet ant is balding or something.

also in kentucky and started seeing one right outside the door of my work. we also have a lot of cicada killer wasps around. i read velvet ants (which are actually just a flightless wasp, hence them being assholes) burrow down and eat the cicada killer wasp larvae. i was surprised how bright red it was.
