This is wildly incorrect. Even if you’re being wildly optimistic for ICE cars and assuming 100% natural gas power for the EV (which is obviously not correct anywhere, renewables are growing, and fast, and lots of folks have solar with their cars, etc) you’re at like 2-3 years for a long range EV.

Electric meter running without any power going through it is impossible. They’re heavily, heavily tested and regulated and it’s just physically impossible the way they’re designed. Someone is wrong. If their billing system is fucked up that’s possible, but the meter itself can’t be wrong in that way.
