At this point, Rick must have thrown out millions of picks to his audiences (I have one too). If they cost anything to make, no wonder they have to keep touring.
This was confirmed in the BCS podcast. Also the top of the border patrol station was put in and a control tower (shot at an airport) was taken out. It's surprising how much CGI this show uses.
Yep, they confirmed the homage on the BCS podcast. Interesting listen about how they set it up if you're inclined.
I think the best compliment I can give this man is that I can't watch late-night talk shows anymore because he thoroughly deconstructed them on The Larry Sanders Show. Just totally brilliant. RIP
I don't plan on buying it. It's just frustrating that they're repackaging it again with some new features apparently when I already have it. Then again, if there was ever a hastily cancelled TV show that deserves to be purchased again and again, this would be it.
I've never heard of another band burning their per diems. Wasting them, sure, but BURNING?!
It's great but also very depressing. The amount of abuse these guys (especially Bob) took and the unbelievable lengths they took to sabotage their own career made me surprised they made it as far as they did.
I was going to boycott the A.V. Club if Long Way to the Top wasn't on there. I'm still a little salty it wasn't #1.
Ah Steve Albini…you're such a fucking crank.
Cheap Trick is the best. Still one of the better live shows I've seen.
Nothing made me cringe more than reading anything this guy wrote about his dad. I don't know how fictionalized it was (according to the author: not much), but it makes me grateful for my own slightly grumpy, but overall much more benign dad.
I think that's why Vince Gilligan & Co. gave him a job here as they probably felt guilty about that.
Goat Simulator is the best. Don't knock it.
Also member of the Intellivision club. Tron Deadly Discs was the best!
Dear A.V. Club, don't ever stop writing about The Wild Bunch. Thanks.
When he started doing commentary, I used to think Simms was pretty good. Now I can't tell if a) the quality of announcing over time has gotten better and he pales in comparison or b) he just sucked from the start and I was wrong about him. Either way, I won't miss him when he's gone.
To be fair, that happens all over the place in Asheville.
Is it wrong that I'm a huge fan of Mr. Show, but just can't get into Cross' solo stuff like this or his standup? I mean I'll probably watch another season of this if IFC greenlights it, but overall I don't think it's that great.
I thought that was him! Well spotted!
