"Woolworths — a popular chain store of the time." OMG, is the readership of this blog so young that they haven't heard of Woolworth's? SMH.

Doesn't tug heartstrings so much, but the reason it works as a dystopian political satire is because it's funny.

The Smart is a great car. It's not meant to be a primary source of transportation. It's a 2nd car for commuting, driving around the city, etc. Yes, for the price you can get something else with a back seat and a trunk, but you're not buying the Smart for a back seat and a trunk, you're buying it because it's small.

The Smart is small and in the U.S. small equals bad. People don't realize it's not supposed to be a primary car.

An overpriced car with a pretentious name car that's un-usably tiny, underpowered and relatively thirsty for fuel? Nice try Smart ForTwo. At least your advertising team has a sense of humor.

this was mine and my late spouse's first date movie.
