Seattle also had some of the best (polite and slightly passive-aggressive) drivers I’d seen in a major city, so comparing it to where I’ve lived up and down the East Coast, there may be something beneficial to having a transport department that actually gives a shit. It seems to rub off on the drivers.

We live in a society meant to accommodate and encourage laziness. Accidents and bad drivers will always happen, but investing a bit more in reducing their chances of fucking up is not a bad idea.

Safety should be the priority and that fence repair job at Pocono was proof that more needs to be done. I have less of an issue with the general concept that racing is inherently dangerous- it definitely is. There’s always going to be an issue with some tracks and circuits not being up to (FIA/international) standard…
