Because economics, that's why.  Black people who can go on to higher education or training do not usually go back to small towns but places where they can make money- and usually do not invest in smaller mostly White towns.

I knew this week would awful & I did not want to cook, so I bought two big salad bowls from Whole Paycheck along with the ingredients to make green smoothies & herbal tea. I have been living on greens, tea and pot this entire week!

THIS.

Remember that it was a majority of White women voters who chose Trump in the election of 2016. They did that a qualified White woman who embraced a progressive agenda that included Black women concerns.

This is the recipe that I got from Clyde Common (RIP) BUT they called it a Champagne Supernova and was served with grapefruit zest peel.

This. All of this.

Actually, I made it a goal to retrain while living on CREDIT CARDS- there was no boost to unemployment then, other to extend it.

YES to everything you said.

Same here in at the Carniceria near me- like cases right in front of the store marked down.

Ha ha no.

Sorry that I am late to this.

Thank you for saying this. Jezebel has it’s own complicity issues with EVERYTHING, and there is a real need to take a good hard look at who is there and the types of articles they have promoted which featured racist trash.

AND THIS IS WHY I CHECK IN.

I only visit to see if Jerry Norland(?) is commenting. They have health issues but they are as smart as a whip, and bring brilliant factoids and side issues that help ‘illustrate’ the story better than the authors. I keep wondering why they are not hired!

1) This site has been going downhill for the past year, and I attribute that to the ownership AND staff.

Agreed- you cant binge this show in a couple of days, nor should you!

It’s on Amazon Prime!

1) No transportation costs, no lunch costs, no vending machine costs, no Starbucks costs, no bar costs. That’s approximately $600-$700 a month. I WAS FRIGGING SHOCKED. Like, I budget for it...but seeing the reality was mindblowing.

Agreed with bars. I had a favorite bar that I would hit maybe 2x-3x a week but now I am more than happy with my weekly cocktail while reclining in the bath. And like $3 to make a nice Martini. No more snobby bartenders or loud tourists.

Isn’t it weird! My fave drinks- White Negroni, Martini and G&Ts- are like $3 to make at home but $10-14 at my fave bar!
