In 1992 no less. That is serious bank today (although these sell for a small fortune as well.)

Poor Jalpa didn't get an interior view.

Couldn't agree more. Knowing how to do it and being inclined to do it are much different things.

I used to live in a state that had mandatory inspections (NY) and now live in one that does not (FL). If nothing else, the amount of cars that don't have fully working brake lights here is MUCH higher. I can't comment on anything else as it is largely anecdotal (tires, brakes or whatever) but the brake lights is a

Well, this is a constitutional republic so vote in other people? I mean that is kind of the idea there. Otherwise you are really talking about starting a revolution.

So who built the roads they drive on? The government
Who plows and maintains those roads? The government
Who protects the trade routes they rely on for fuel and goods they transport? The government

You think you would have been the only one there packing and they would have scurried away? I'm not sure if you're being serious or trolling.

They are usually available on the IIHS's website.

Re #5 - If you live in NYC (where that picture was taken) those things keep from getting your bumpers chewed up. It isn't uncommon to park expensive cars on the street and I would think Jalops could appreciate preserving your car in a hostile environment. Never drive with them on though.

My most recent new car purchase was a manual in a segment where there are very few manuals anymore. Sadly the M3/M4 is out of my pay grade.

Don't forget the Starbucks drive-through on your way there!

CP because the price is really just a down payment on all the maintenance and repairs this thing will need. I've always loved the S4 and the avant with the 6-speed checks all the right boxes but I'd much rather lease one so it becomes someone else's expensive liability.

Where does it say that? Seriously, I clicked through to the jalopnik link and didn't see a source posted.

Of the guy putting it into the bin? That doesn't prove anything (he is standing very close with the object near his CG) You could easily substitute that block for anything else dense and heavy (like a 100lb dumbell). I would be more impressed with a video of them zipping up that rollboard and picking it up with the

Are you saying that the JD power survey is comparable? It really isn't as good. It focuses on one specific period in the car's life and is a smaller sample size (last year I could find data for was 2012 and that was 31,000 responses)

It's an iron block, see my post above. And the thing is that it is a total publicity stunt. Sure it could fit in the bag but it isn't like they wheeled it around on a business trip.
