I also think many millenials are more likely to realize that a car is just another expense in life. This doesn't mean that they hate them but if you are factoring in say $700 for rent but can walk to work versus $500 + extra car expenses.

I think VW needs to get a better grasp on reliability and repair/maintenance costs if they want to make a bigger push in the US market. That is one thing that has kept me away and there are other people I know in the same boat.
