I wonder how many of these FL crazies are actually from FL? My experience is that most people are from up north somewhere.

I think the best solution in the Focus is to get the manual. It's a pretty good one.

The trailer-trash girlfriend hollering in the background is what sealed the deal.

Never heard that term before. I like it

A 'part time' truck is a different animal. I am talking about the Sierra Denalis and F-150 platinums etc. that I see parked in my downtown parking garage. A $50k truck to drive to an office job?

I see multiple pickups parked in my office's urban parking garage...

Agreed on the 'vettes. That is why I would never buy one. But using a 'utility vehicle' like a pickup for what a car could do day in and day out is just daft.

N - Pickup trucks have their uses but I would say a good 85% of them on the road in the US are not necessary, pretty much the entire 1/2 ton market. The thing is that the people that need trucks for their jobs typically buy 3/4 ton, 1 ton trucks or vans and a lot of times they go for the diesel option as well. These

The Testarossa engine is a flat-12. Just sayin

Go die in a car fire.

Even in Texas?

The media and the neo-cons love to drag this story out when they talk about how bad unions are.

I think my biggest concern is that it doesn't record enough data. I think it would actually be better if it incorporated a dashcam. Say for example someone pulls out right in front of you and you hit them. If you didn't slam the brakes they would probably try to pin some of the blame on you. However if they could see

Depending on the time of year. I-87 "the Northway" north of Saratoga Springs, NY is pretty good. There isn't much between there and Plattsburgh so as long as you are travelling off-season it is usually pretty empty.

Not quite a minivan but the XJ220 Transit is pretty awesome

Well the government can control that somewhat. If they own the land they can certainly stipulate in the lease to the fuel company that they don't charge above the average or whatever. IIRC, NYS did this to the gas stops on the Thruway like 10 years ago.

To me the best part is that unlike at a stop light traffic can keep flowing!

The new CX-5 looks pretty "bold" Personally, I would probably get a Forester over a CX-5 so I could get a manual and AWD but I know a lot of people out there with wives/girlfriends get steered into CUVs and the CX-5 is one you might enjoy driving.

AWD. Yawn. At least on Quebec they make winter tires mandatory....

The newer CVTs are better (from what I've heard) but the slushboxes in Subarus are pretty dreadful. I had a 2000 Outback 5-speed and averaged about 27mpg with it. The manuals also had a better AWD system many years. I will agree that FWD with 4 snows is good enough for most places, though.
