The CX-5 is arguably the most car-like and 'fun-to-drive' vehicle in its segment. The CX-7 is axed and the CX-9 which got early kudos for its dynamics is being re-done next year.

Linoln LS

The symmetrical AWD is a big reason. It is on 100% of the time so that definitely increases fuel consumption. I averaged about 26mpg(US) in my 2000 Outback Wagon with the 5-speed manual.

Absolutely disagree on the braking. I owned a Subaru Outback (5-speed with the optional LSD in the back) and the engine braking is no better than what I experienced in FWD automatic cars. I will contend that the slightly greater ground clearance and the AWD would help you get going for sure. The Blizzak WS-50's were

Agreed. A Mazda3 is just as cheap/reliable but actually engaging to drive.

Uh, yeah. V6 mustang with the track package.

True but the author mentioned 'us Americans' and the car's 'hood' which would imply the American spelling would be appropriate.

"matt aluminium." Do you mean "matte" ?

Am I the only one that hooned during snow storms?

Knowing what size tire would be kind of important to answer this question precisely. Having said that I would give a nod to either Blizzak WS-70's or Hakkapeliitta Rs. Any winter tire will be a HUGE upgrade over 'all-seasons.' Heck, I have used the no-name Sam's Club snows on more than 1 car and they were pretty solid

I am sure some of the haters will come out but I enjoyed this.

1st/R - Mileage is a highly subjective thing. I have been able to beat EPA estimates on cars (while driving 5 over and having the a/c on.) I drove ~3200 miles from NY to San Diego with a friend of mine and when he was driving the average mpg would go down and when I was driving it would go up. We were driving pretty

IIRC in the 80's Volvo sold more wagons than they did sedans in the US. I know when I had my 850 the wagons were more desireable on the used market.

Oh no, I love that section. I am saying in the context of being terrifying to the pussies that can't deal with narrow windy roads.

IMO, upper portions of the taconic are even worse once you get into Putnam Co

Disagree on 6-8. It is only terrifying if you are some country bumpkin.

Probably not #1 but I-75 "Alligator Alley" has to be up there:

Hrm, I wonder if they are staying at the Vinoy. I might have to swing by there later.
