Mouth-breathers place adrenaline rush and bragging rights over their own lives. Same with every sports safety reg violation ever.

Why do they all insist on getting so close to the cars at the start of the race? It blows my mind the lack of common sense and the utter disregard for personal safety.
Im gonna guess that tax payers are paying his medical bills also. And probably his debit card for food, you know the one with the American flag on it.
Because its impossible that some spectators are just kids who were nearby and were drawn to the spectacle.
Your point that it is their prerogative to race and potentially injure themselves has merit. The flaw is that WHEN they hurt/kill themselves, emergency personel have to waste their time on these people. If you want to do these things, fine, but don’t call for help if it goes wrong. Only then is it truly their choice…
He is poor enough to build up a fox body to race and cannot even see the value in a helmet or roll cage. There is no money to collect.
Those spectators aren’t “innocent.” They know they are party to an illegal act. If they get hurt, they are people who had an unfortunate occurrence happen while doing something they should have known better than to do.
Agreed.
Think of the emotional and resource toll on the first responders who have to pick up the pieces... not necessary.
Except who do you think pays for the shit he fucks up? He replacing that light pole if it's broke? No, taxpayers. I'm not funding your stupidity.
The problem with racing on the street is that this car would likely never pass tech at a drag strip. A “safety last” drag car like this will get black flagged before it hits the staging lanes. This idiot wasn’t even wearing a helmet.
I have honestly not watched their videos before. If this is the stuff they built their brand on then even more shame needs to be put onto their sponsors.
Don’t race those on the street either. If you must drive a Caliber competitively, I recommend demolition derbies.
Yeah, I did some incredibly stupid things in whatever I could get my hands on. Fortunately none of them were as fast as this or I would have been in some serious trouble.
Yep. Although I also only had access to my parent’s 4-cylinder Camry or my incredibly slow (like as slow as the Camry) ‘66 Pontiac. This guy looks like someone who built a drag car, got kicked out of the track for not having a cage, then said “nah, too expensive” so just ran it on the street. Without a cage. Where…
As someone who raced at a dedicated track with a mildly modified street car, I just want to say:
Right? It’s not like Fords are any nicer...
High school is one thing, you’re young and dumb then. Not an excuse, but it’s more understandable. None of the guys in that video appeared to be in high school. If you’re an adult and still making those decisions, yeah you’re fucking stupid. Especially if you’ve got $1,600 to bet on a race, but can’t be bothered to…
Sigh...
I’ll never understand why Drag racers will buy a Ford and put a Chevy engine in it.
