I’d avoid spending that much on a trim kit; the biggest factor is that you don’t know if the pieces are going to fit (aftermarket is generally terrible)...they could be using all NOS GM parts to build the kit, but they’d be charging you on top of that to get to that $1,500 mark.

Yeah, I didn’t even consider getting a birth certificate...that’s another $25, plus having an immediate family member with a valid photo ID getting it from the Clerk of Court.

True; I guess my point was that most of the small businesses are just a guy or two with a truck and a couple of tools and some skills...you have to be around awhile before you can spend $10k on a truck, and another grand to wrap it with a logo...only a few of the working class actually get that far with their business.

Wow...you’re going to buy a brand-new crate motor to stuff into your beater? You’ve completely missed the point:

You asked if I never ran into a road-check, and I answered.

The other-way around, apparently. I’m semi-drunk and since I got an early Friday, I did a little Googling around: the top-of-the-line Holden was the Caprice, which was sold to civilians (!!! fuck you GM!) for $24k US, while the Holden was only about $10k US, despite being the same car as the American Chevrolet Caprice

It was so worth it for the week I was in Australia, despite all my Aussie co-workers giving me crap for being excited about driving a Commodore.

Nah, just don’t cheap out on the materials...just get some gray Scotch-Brite, masking tape, a can of Bulldog adhesion promoter, your choice of semi-gloss or matte-black spray paint, and a can of matte clearcoat and make a weekend out of it!

If I had the money, I’d be a-Barina my checkbook!

Yup; and not to mention that the 5.7 Charger has a better weight-distribution than the 6.2 and 6.4; there’s a big difference in how the front-end reacts under heavy cornering.

I have been warned against Copper/Bronze cars LOL

BMW 5-series, Mercedes CL / CLK, Hyundai Genesis, Lexus LS...to name a few.

You’d be surprised; a lot of people looking for really cheap work-trucks are doing things like plumbing and HVAC work, where work mostly picks up in the dead of winter when there’s a foot of snow on the ground...and since they can only afford one vehicle, it has to be able to get the family around, too; although the

Relaid.net. You’re welcome.

Think of the money you’d save on lube!

Here’s my usual search, just for comparison:

Excellent point!  In most cases, ES300's are actually much cheaper than V6 Camry’s...you could also go Avalon, which I personally find much more attractive than the ES, but I’m really more of a GS kinda-guy myself.

Definitely don’t buy anything from a dealer with a $5k budget unless you find a REALLY good deal.

Ouch!  Why not just buy from an individual?  I looked at an ‘04 4WD Quad-Cab for half that awhile back...dealers are not your friends.

“A dealer” is a dumbass...even cheaper trucks go for a ton of money over cars, simply because they’re generally considered a work-asset; so there’s more demand for a truck in good condition over a car because you can haul tools and equipment, and basically use it to make money.
