I have no strong opinions about Hefner because I don’t know much about his personal life, but he was indeed a massive cultural force. I don’t think many people under 35 really understand just what Playboy was when it was a leading voice in popular culture.

Allot of people see him as the sex magazine guy but he really did use his powers for good. He offered black people jobs that no one at the time was offering. And when he found out that some of his franchised clubs in the south would not let black playboy club members in, he bought the clubs back and desegregated them.
