You know, I used to think the same thing (Socialism). But honestly, some things are best socialized for the common good like roads, education, water, (to an extent) electricity. Access to basic health care is and should be a right if we are to call ourselves a civilized nation.

I'm all for a single-payer model, it is just overly-simplistic to compare our needs to the needs of countries with 1/10th of our population, 1/10th of our geographic size, and more.

I came here to say this. No single country, with the exception of perhaps India, Russia, or China would have to face the logistical issues of providing healthcare for so many people at the US. It's a logistical nightmare. and there are unique issues that we have to work out that smaller countries do not.

Anyone who is getting actual work done uses a mouse. Using a trackpad on excel sheets, games, and anything else that requires actual precision makes a trackpad cumbersome.
