The only problem with Paint.NET and GIMP is that they take FOREVER to load. I can literally start GIMP, go to the bathroom and come back before it loads, and my PC isn't old or outdated. Seriously, work on that start up time.

Shop around for prices. The pricing from this article is totally wrong as you can get a 120GB OCZ Agility 3 drive for $170 after rebate through Newegg.com.

I went to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features On and Off > and unselected Internet Explorer. Then if you try to start Internet Explorer the browser it says the program no longer exists and gives me the option to remove shortcuts leading to IE. It's as uninstalled as it gets without disrupting

I removed IE so there's that problem.

It's nitpicky, but I hate that the windows default photo viewer can't even display movable gif files.

Read my contribution above. I grill outside about once or twice a month maximum and cook a lot of meat at once. Then I package it in portion sizes for two (you can do this for one) and then just pull the meat out as I want to eat it. It won't go bad in the freezer, especially in a few months.

This isn't a question per se, but more of my experience for cooking on a budget and still eating well. Starting this summer I started grilling regularly and decided that it would make sense to grill a LOT of meat at once and then eat it over time. So my gf and I bought a family-sized bag of chicken breasts, about a

Yes, it has to come in contact with the arthropod, and it attaches to their exoskeleton and dehydrates them. They aren't attracted to the stuff, so you have to put it in "high traffic" areas where you think the bugs are coming in (doorway thresholds, garage door, or just around the perimeter of the house). I wouldn't

I concur with the apple cider and dish soap remedy to get rid of them, but I put it in a 2-liter soda bottle. I cut the top part of the soda bottle and invert it into the bottom part so it looks like a funnel sitting into the bottle, then I pour in the mixture. It lets flies in, but won't let flies out. I've used this

Yes, it works on spiders. If it is an arthropod it will work on them. I can attest because that is what I originally put DE out for, and it's cut our spider problem down to almost nothing. Plus, I see lots of dead spiders covered in DE in my garage now.

It works and works WELL on spiders. If it is an arthropod, it works on them.

It won't work on ALL bugs, but a vast majority of them. If they are arthropods (species with an exoskeleton), it should kill them. This means it also works on non-insects like spiders and scorpions (quite well I might add). It works by "scratching" their waxy exoskeleton and dehydrating them, so it will take up to a

Another way you can reuse zip ties without sacrificing the good hold of it being gear rack up is to get a paperclip or a thin pen knife and lift the gear rack up when you want to release the zip tie. The teeth won't be clamping down so the zip tie will slide right out.

What would you call a computer and toilet hybrid?

What the heck are you putting on the table to make the fold-out part bent?

I've got two of them and they work well as adjustable tables, printer tables, and even night stands. I got them from my grandmother who actually used them. Plus, they're good heavy-gauge steel so they'll last and are fairly strong.

This looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Unfortunately that call isn't really up to me, it's up to the professors that are sending me. The problem isn't so much that it will be going on as I am flying, but that there is the possibility of widespread power outages the days following. I'd hate to fly into DC and go to Georgetown University only to not be able

I pay $650 for a spacious 3-bedroom home with a nice front yard and a large back yard. The only downside is that I have to live in Oklahoma. The upside is that I can visit New York when I want for the good parts, and get the hell out before it starts costing a fortune.

I'm flying into DC Sunday for a research conference. I am hoping that my flight gets cancelled or the conference gets cancelled.
