I had an old shortwave Halicrafters radio (it had vacuum tubes and everything) and I could get stuff from Asian countries, Europe, and Australia as well, and the only thing I used as an antenna was a thick-gauge copper wire wrapped around a 3-inch diameter dowel rod.

One can only hope Tim Cook has the same sense that Jobs had and not let these clowns near a press event.

You won't be able to get any signal with #2, especially with satellite radio if you are in a bunker. Sad day.

What you aren't taking into account is that there is a very specific type of person who feels willing to leave a review, be it positive or negative. I buy a lot online and never review, because it doesn't matter to me. But, if I felt that a product or service was atrocious, I would probably write a review.

It's like watching a tantrum-throwing teenager try to act out to get attention from the person they admire the most, but their admirer is unaware of their existence (or just doesn't care).

I've started doing remote log-ins myself to fix problems, but this time my gf's mother said she can't even get on the internet.

Seriously, I don't think this is as bad as it sounds. My gf's mother has this nice Toshiba laptop she somehow keeps messing up to the point that she can't even use the internet and programs won't start. She just came here on Memorial Day weekend and I fixed it and a few weeks ago I get a message from her saying that

I've never had a problem with the battery and mine is in a dimly-lit office room where I *sometimes* have a fluorescent cabinet light on when I am at the PC. Now if you sit in full darkness and never turn the light on, then yes there will be a problem (or you use it exclusively for couch surfing, which might be done

Great keyboard. I'm using one right now. It uses the solar cells to charge a battery, so it's not solar in the sense of a solar calculator but it has a solar recharging method. That being said, it works very well with no lag, and I even use it to play TF2 a lot, with great results.

I thought a holograph was a 3D image. That looks like a projector image. Also, and I know it is a proof of concept, but they totally show the keyboard but not the effects of fingers blocking the laser projection as you type. To me, that has always been the biggest problem with laser keyboards.

Of course we, again, are forgetting that the President's main job is to execute existing law whereas it is the legislative branch's main duty to create new laws or modify existing laws. A waving of hands isn't the way to go to make lasting, meaningful change.

True, but this entire legal/illegal argument is based on the notion that people do drugs because they are illegal, and therefore get a rush from performing an illegal act. Users are driven by their physical or psychological addition to the drug and not the rush of doing something illegal. In fact, they go to great

I refuse to comment in a substantive way on this article and am only commenting now to show my disapproval of articles such as these.

Ms. Frizzle needs to be stopped!

How appropriate of an article. I'm going to DC this weekend.

You can wear a sweater on any star. The difference is being incinerated by the star itself.

Google can get you anything. Hell, I even found all my textbooks online using google and just searching for the right thing.

You might if it is Taco Tuesdays.

I feel the love in this thread! Hearts for both of you!

While with some drugs like marijuana I can agree with may not be as dangerous as the government makes it out to be, but there are others like PCP, crack cocaine, heroine, etc that have a significant negative impact on the user as well as society in general.
