I have two of these engines at home, in my Tipos. It's the Fiat version, but the only diferences between them are the lack of a Turbo and the lead cover, which says "Fiat 2000 16 Valve". Even the pistons are still branded with the Lancia logo on the inside:

And let's not forget that being a small jeep type thing also helps a lot.

Is that Kirin Ichiban beer? They recently started selling it here in Brazil, and it's pretty damn expensive, a 350 ml can costs more than a pint of Guinness.

BRB, hanging an american flag on my porch. And I'm not even american. Or have a porch for that matter.

Come to think of it, why would Italians import any kind of luxury articles at all? That's kind of their thing isn't it?

Genius indeed, I'd love to see more from him on Jalopnik!

I'll turn 25 March 20 :p

Yeah, that could happen. VW did call the new new Beetle Fusca down here after all. I can totally see a Ford Coupe being named the Maverick, if it gets released down here.

The Capri has as much history in the US as the Fiesta or Focus had before their current iterations, and now they're big names among enthusiasts. Aside from the Mustang, Ford's global projects all take in their Euro history, now's the time for them to cash in on this and present something that's both familiar (US had a

I know, I'm Brazilian as well, but the problem is that the nameplates used here have no heritage whatsoever. Dodge can get away with calling a full size RWD V8 powered sedan the Charger because everyone knows what a Charger is, but if Ford decided to release a new Maverick based on the "sucess" of the old model,

Damn, I hadn't thought of the Capri! You're absolutely correct, the Capri would probably be a better nameplate to revive... And wouldn't it be interesting if they did that and people 30 years from now talked about the rivalry between the Nova and the GT86 and the Capri, and even older people talked about the rivalry

I dunno man, I was thinking more of the RS Escorts that raced in the World Rally Championships in the 70's. Other than the Mustang, Ford doesn't have a lot of compacts in their past Worth reviving, save, maybe for the Falcon, but that would be too obvious... Alternately, they could just make the next Fiesta or Focus

Eh, the Maverick was kind of a dog up in the US... Even the Grabber version didn't go down in history as other Sporty compacts of the time such as the Nova or the Duster.

I haven't lost hope yet man... who knows they might be taking their time to do things right, instead of rushing a bunch of crapmobiles into the Market. Personally, I hope Chevy goes with a square jawed semi fastback and calls it the Nova, then Ford could maybe revive a historied name from their euro heritage, such as

Come to think of it, didn't every automaker and their mothers have plans for GT86 fighters a while back? Chevrolet filed a lot of historied names and even showed concepts that could theoretically be attached to those names, and now we have plans for a Miata Coupe and a mysterious 124-that's-not-the-spider.

The whistle goes woo!

Here's what I bought. Get on my level.

Do you really want to be the asshole who causes your local show to lose its venue, or cause horrible damage to people and/or property? Didn't think so.

"I have brought one of my personal cars to one cruise night and was told by one "expert" that my car has been modified, some of the parts on it are incorrect. Which if funny because I ordered the car new and am the only owner. The only non-original parts are the oil, oil filter and coolant."

I've always had a thing for the US Navy jets, so much so that my two favorite planes are the Tomcat and Corsair, and flying a Tomcat was my first childhood dream. Of course, that was unlikely to happen, as I was born in the wrong country and the Tomcat was retired two full years before I could get my flight license...
