Porsche (and a few other brands) do their research well and have perfected the model. Yeah, it seems to be a ridiculous thing, but for the vast majority of buyers dropping $200k on a car, a few personal touches are to be expected.

Yup, completely agree. There is no real-world scenario that you need to do that consistently on a daily basis. Even if you did really need to hit 60 in less than 3 seconds, its going to get very boring VERY quickly.

Time to go hunting Craigslist and other sites for an early to mid-90's 900 Turbo. Love those cars and would have another in a shot. I feel the fleet needs it. Great cars, even if they are flawed.

Love these cars too. They have such an endearing spirit, its clear to see why the are worth more now. But the value of something is usually based on rarity, materials, availability etc. While perfect examples are not common, there are plenty around the world and a number of specialists who can rebuild, provide parts

Fair comments. At $15k its a little steep, but with a bit of haggling, I am sure you could get it for a touch less. Sum of the parts, when new, brings it close to the price asked, but usually no-one makes their money back on this type of thing.

C63S. And they arent the most expensive that you can get. Really good headlights, but not sure they are worth that much!

Buy a Peugeot in the US? Maybe, but Citroen, hell yeah. They are far from the best cars in the world, but they are different. And in a world where individuality is increasingly important, a Citroen would be great.

Headlight units for my car are $4000 a set. That doesnt include control units or any additional things. Just the units. Thats insane. And these arent the most expensive one you can get either!

Some people are happy to drop $500k and more on an EarthRoamer when a Sprinter based RV is 1/5th of that! So yeah, some people will be happy to drop $80k on a CT and add more on a custom trailer and silly ATV thats really a Yamaha. Hell, a Merc G STARTS at $125k!!!

Completely agree.

Motortrend struck a deal with Discovery network and you can actually get most of the more popular stuff on one of their channels now. Clearly they will push Motortrend on demand first and it will get the latest content, but it will then make it to Discovery later.

Try the downtown Cupertino supercharger. Its the one thats in the Main Street Garage - yeah, thats right, they put it in the public parking garage! The problem is that there are WAY to many Tesla’s in the area (yeah, 1st world problems) and its on one of the floors. You know where this is going....

Its divisive. There seems to be little middle ground. You either love it or loath it. Thats fine, its a personal thing at that point, and I am certainly not going to tell anyone what they like or dislike.

Not so sure on the leader in self-driving tech though. No argument here on the safety, range, performance and efficiency of their drivetrains - safest and best on the market!!! But self-driving? Yeah, not buying that.

Ok, I’ll bite.....

Well that makes no sense..... Jeez, I give up with Tesla. They have the most efficient electric drive train on the market. Best battery range. Safest TESTED crash testing and the biggest charging network. They also have a $35k Model 3 - but they dont jump up and down and shout about it?

Remember the bad old days of Apple iPhone vs Samsung Galaxy smartphones? It ended up just being a comparison of a few irrelevant specifications. Who had the bigger screen, more megapixel camera etc.... pointless, meaningless and just to appease the masses and journos. In reality it was about who made the best of the

I looked the other day (and just now) and the cheapest Model 3 is the standard one and that costs $39,490 before taxes. Thats the white one with no extras.

Have a star for that!

While I agree in general, there is a reason why we have ended up with vehicles that look the way they do. Look back at the early days of motor vehicles and you can see that they ended up converging on some common themes, for a reason. Whether its for aero, practicality or just to blend in, its there for a reason.
