I never said it was an industry standard. Nintendo has had BC 1 generation back for all of their handhelds and made sure the Wii U continued the same trend since their consoles went disc based.

Did you see how everyone went batshit over the Majora's Mask LE version? It proved that not releasing face-plates in NA initially was a good business move. Expect many more limited edition XLs before the standard version is released.

At first it was really tough, but now there are options for 3rd party now and the reviews for them have all been pretty good. You can use 4 GCN controllers and it takes away input lag. No need to overpay for the Nintendo one, and no need to to buy an unwanted controller bundle.
