If you don't like critics picking things apart, don't read reviews because—well, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but that's the job of critics and the function of reviews.

"best cover" <—Funniest thing I've read here in years! That cover is awful! It isn't a cover in any sense of the word; it just borrows the lyrics, barely any of the melody except for a few measures of the chorus.
This is AV Undercover, so the band that covered Sweet Leaf would probably decide to sneeze instead of cough in an attempts to be SOOOO funny and different and d-bag-y. Or they'd cough through a kazoo into a bullhorn attached to a wah-wah pedal.
Well, since the bands are such a-holes and do such crappy covers, they deserve to have only crappy songs to play. Why give them anything interesting or complex when the AV Undercover bands will just piss all over it anyway?
Um…no.
Isn't Cataan Monopoly for the Cataan age?
"Inhumanly fast?" Your memory is betraying you: That part of the song (the WHAM WHAM WHAM after that lyric) is a very simple, basic, and rather slow bit of drum work that anyone with drums could play. You're probably thinking of a different song (or listening to the song at the wrong speed—lol).
I didn't put words in your mouth, I simply read the words you wrote. If you don't want to be argued with, don't post nonsense.
Nobody tried to convince you to like him. Ryan tried to convince you that, despite your claims, Anzari IS a stand-up comedian. Hard to win "best standup act" if you aren't doing stand-up.
So, someone has to be a stand-up comic before they can try stand-up comedy? That's quite the Catch-22 you're running there. And "Leave it to the professionals" is likewise idiotic. The pros were all amateur before going pro, so…seriously, your comments on this are just incoherent.
NO! STOP BEING EXCITED! be defeated and crushed like the rest of us… :) :)
Thanks! I appreciate the guidance, and the warning about Tomorrow People. To be honest, that one never caught my interest to begin with, but a lot of my friends with tastes like mine enjoy AoS, so I really want to give it a fair shot.
Thanks for the advice! I usually hate skipping episodes, but these first four are a real grind for me. I might just slog through anyway to make sure I can follow everything later on.
Truly a genius-level contribution to the conversation. Your brevity is commendable.
NO NEED TO SHOUT. WE CAN READ YOU JUST FINE in normal text.
You should be asking, WHERE IS THE CAPS LOCK KEY?
Okay, AV Clubbers, help me out. I've just started watching AoS, and I'm eager to keep watching, but the first four episodes of the first season are so dreadful that I cannot imagine watching more. So, where should I start? Which first-season episodes are "must see?" Or should I skip the season entirely and start with…
"Favorite" song does not imply that Marah thinks it is the "best" song of the year, only that it is her…you know, favorite.
Part of me wants to throw something at you for suggesting those awful shows, but the rest of me wants to write letters and send peanuts to help your cause!
I can understand doing test shows. He's been the character "Stephen Colbert" for so long that audiences aren't really used to the normal, real Colbert. I think test shows are better than just going live and hoping for the best.
