I don't know much about iOS, as I'm just starting to learn it in order to port my Android app, but from what I understood, you don't need to bother very much with retina vs normal iphone.

It's not like I'm abandoning the ship, because I have an Android phone myself. It's just that this kind of thing really get in my nerves. Especially when Andy Rubin comes and says there's no fragmentation on the platform.

To be fair, there is a lot of tools on Android SDK for dealing with multiple resolutions. But that doesn't stop it from being a pain in the a** :P
