I was vaguely aware of this show but then the trailer for season 2 came on TV (here in the UK) and my wife said it might be worth a try.  I then read this article, so last night we watched the first two episodes of season 1 and I think it’s going to become one of my favourite shows.

Largely agree, but on his later output, I think Wrecking Ball is a fantastic album.

He was switch-picking that night.

I’m quite tempted by this. I really didn’t know much about Springsteen (beyond Born to Run and a 7" promo Atlantic City that my sister had for some reason) when BITUSA came out. I didn’t really get into it, but did find Darkness on the Edge of Town in my brother’s record collection which I found a bit disappointing.

I completely agree with your thinking, but have you really just confused Kelly Rowland with Kelly Clarkson?

People are going to freak when they find out what Alec Guinness thought of Star Wars.

I never thought I’d see the odious Richard Keys’s name on the AV Club.

Derrs more to Oirland dan diss!

“y’all need Jesus” was an all-timer punchline.

There’s a little kicking.

What about favourite sketch for the season?  I’d go with Nate Bargatze’s Washington

The trade disputes.  Always the trade disputes.

I was just talking about the tone of the response and what it reminded me of.  I wasn’t commenting on the situation as I have no idea whether the complaints were legitimate or not.  And, let’s be honest, neither do you.

The TV Studio response put me in mind of: “

Exactly.

Yes, but the tried and trusted way of dealing with that is to try to be as neutral as possible. You don’t need to be that effusive to “keep on getting jobs”. It’s not like Coppola is going to hire her again.

I’ll accept your second sentence, but I think the drop off is not as great as your first sentence suggests.  It’s no Glee - it’s still a fun show.

It’s probably going to let me down, but I am legitimately excited to see this.

While the genesis of the cover lies in a joke, the trick to Weezer’s “Africa” is that they played it straight: there’s never a sense the group is winking at their audience.”
