I was just through Omaha yesterday... skipped the Runza (and the gas all the way back to eastern Iowa), instead going for Valentino’s.

That was one hell of a wing, MAN.
MAN
A couple years back, my oldest brother (and the oldest in the family) passed away, necessitating a road trip nearly 1300 miles from home. My then 84 year-old mom, God bless her, didn’t want to fly (insanely expensive on no notice and flying into BFE northeast Montana). So she asked me to pick her up in eastern…
If closer, that car would be mine today—Nice price all the live long day. Seattle car means likely no rust anywhere (especially doglegs between rear doors and fender opening), the 2.3 engine is good IF there’s oil change history. Otherwise these cars are pretty easy to work on, and the AC being in-op is fairly easy to…
The Supra Zen Edition—becoming one with the woods.
$6-8k? I’d be all in. NP after haggling.
As a bonus, I would not be surprised if the legal defense for this was being paid by the vendor/chief moneymaker of the red light cam in question, and that money was being slid under the table. #wearingmytinfoilhat
Who knew that F1 needed fluffers?
Nice write-up on both items! Haven’t had to do the starter (yet), but the EGR tube was an interesting project. Getting the nuts and bolts off the ends of the tube was the easy part. For me, the challenge was breaking loose and removing the bolt that holds the tube to the back of the block/head.
Turnip trucker ticketed; tripped through tomatoes, thought the track was a good place to use the truck’s tank as a tray.
If this had been Bill Caswell, he would have stopped for a beer, passed out 100 Caswell stickers, gotten some pictures taken with hot babes, then gotten back in the car, hauled ass to the finish line and finished second. Then he’d turn around and go back to party. That sounds about right.
The only questions I have (since I have a first-year 9000 in my garage) are: “When am I going to have time to work on it this spring?” and “what obscure junkyard can I find to locate obscure and fiddly trim bits for the car?”
Cool party trick- will have to try that with mine! As for the light programming, it can be done with Tech 2 (“rest of world” setting in the BCM settings, IIRC), and also a setting can also allow fogs to be on while the high beams are lit—nice extra lighting.
Oli was asp-iring to greatness that day.
I’m at the 200 (-ish) mile point from Chicago, in case you need backups for the backups.
“Is AC an option?”
Cue “Assume the service position” jokes. Lovely car, but CP.
Not quite. Looks more like a standard Corvair wheel cover. The pic you show you looks to be a mid-late 1970s Chevy Monza wheelcover. Then again, I could be wrong.
Second on the early Corvair. The tire/wheel cover at :51 in is early 1960s Corvair, probably ‘63-64. .
