Or mittens on your baby, before they learn to walk. Of course, you'd have to watch out for the baby eating the collected dust bunnies.

I don't think there is one closing that is appropriate for all situations. I've used:
Lots of employers, if they offer a health care FSA, also offer a dependent care FSA. I would suspect that most people would use this for day care expenses for their kids, but there other qualifying expenses too (e.g., the care of a sick parent). I think the IRS limit on both health care FSA and dependent care FSA…
I wouldn't think of connecting to the Internet without one: a NAT router. Make sure that Mom and Dad are using a NAT router between their cable/DSL modem and any computers/devices, or alternatively, make sure that their cable/DSL modem is also a NAT router.
Alright, stop it already. 14 "Download of the Day" posts in the last 3 days, and from what I've seen, lots of negative comments in response to most of these downloads. I would much prefer quality over quantity (even at the expense of not having a "Download of the Day" at all once in a while if there is nothing worth…
Ninth "Download of the Day" and counting since yesterday morning....are you guys having some sort of contest?
Eighth "Download of the Day" and counting since yesterday morning....
Maybe the "Download of the Day" should be renamed "Download of the Moment" — this is the seventh Download of the Day since yesterday morning. Is there really that much great software out there, or has the bar been lowered substantially?
StumbleUpon is how I found lifehacker in the first place.
Become a New England Patriots fan — you'll have something to look forward to every Sunday (and the odd Monday). This will get you through February, after that you're on your own.
Can anyone recommend a tool/site for the reverse, decomposing an animated GIF into individual images?
@Gina: I think recently released AOL Active Virus Shield does real-time scanning, as well as scheduled scans, etc. I don't know all the details, but this product is made possible by some alliance between Kaspersky Labs and AOL, and is free (though I hear that you're limited to 1 year or coverage or something like…
They're not leafy, but at least they're green: zucchini bread!
Keyboard access to the QuickLaunch bar: Windows key, ESC, tab, tab will put focus on the first QuickLaunch icon. Arrow keys allow navigation around the icons, Enter while icon has focus has the same effect as a mouse-click on said icon.
BTW, I don't mind so much "cluttering" my QuickLaunch bar because have the entire Windows taskbar over on the left hand side of my screen. I prize vertical real estate over horizontal, so I moved it there years ago. As a result, SystemTray and QuickLaunch icons aren't as obstrusive.
@OfficeDespot: Now *that's* a tip! I've resorted to having shortcuts on my Desktop to popular initial focus destinations for Explorer, and resigned myself to the fact that I'll always have to right-click on each and then select "Explore" to launch Explorer with that folder as initial focus. Now, I can put individual…
> I love the idea of a $0.02 tip if the service is horrible
Tipping (or not, or very little) is the only way that the consumer has to reward/punish their server for good/bad service. I love the idea of a $0.02 tip if the service is horrible. Now, I think it is incumbent on the tipper to use this properly — if the server rolls his/her eyes when I ask for more water (and then…
I never met a piece of pumpkin pie that I didn't like. Canned pumpkin, fresh pumpkin, doesn't matter. IMHO, you can't screw up pumpkin pie.
I was allowed to work at home for several months when my wife was on bedrest during a difficult pregnancy. After the twins were born, I was told I could no longer do this on a regular basis because, although I could be trusted to get my work done, boss couldn't trust everyone who might want to work at home to get…
