While I'm not espousing the practice of intentionally getting kids sick, it's not the end of the world for kids to get sick. They need to get exposed to stuff to build up a resistance to stuff. You've got to get sick to keep from getting sick.

Grrr. Previous post got swallowed. In a nutshell, I said:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there are only two ways that employers could look at your IM data: Sniffing traffic as it went by (potentially logging it for off-line analysis), or inspecting any logging that your IM client does.
I'll bet this violates some sort of copyright, but what the heck.
@Ed H.: Don't know if this is an artifact of my company's field (health care software), the cleanliness of the facilities, etc., but in my personal experience I see nearly everyone where I work washing their hands in the men's room after 'going'. I've observed that it is slightly less in public restrooms, but nowhere…
I live out in the country and haven't heard a car alarm there in years. Even though this would work for me, I'd call 911 too if I thought there was someone in the house.
Another vote for Easy Thumbnails, epspecially if you want to resize a bunch of files at once.
WTF?
Gibson also
If Steve Gibson likes it, it's good enough for me.
Before the twins were born: 0 mg. I became quite sensitive to caffeine, having done my best to avoid it in everything I ate or drank for over 10 years since college. I became so sensitive to it that if I had a big bowl of chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce in the evening I would have a hard time sleeping.
OMG — what a difference a PDF reader makes! Blazingly fast at opening a document. Foxit, where have you been all my life? Thank you, Adam!
Have to second the recommendation for FirstIB. I've been a customer for 5+ years, no complaints — not even the remotest hint of one. Would recommend them to anyone.
People who use multiple machines can use the Google Browser Sync extension to sync your bookmarks (and in the process, sync up your feeds too since they are "bookmarks").
I use Sage to manage my feeds. Point Sage at a folder under Bookmarks (I called mine "Feeds"), then Alt+S toggles the Sage sidebar up and down. If you use a different folder for Sage than the default "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder", you can use the Bookmarks Toolbar for something other than your RSS feeds. If real…
@Liam: Right on! Couldn't have said it better myself.
I use my state's and the national Do Not Call registry, with good effect. When I do get an unwanted call, it's usually someone with whom I do business (like my bank, the cable company, etc.). I quickly tell them in no uncertain terms that I want to be put on their "do not call" list. Then I hang up. That's usually…
@Nemo: Want to get up more easily? Have kids. It's impossible to sleep through a baby crying (much as I would like to some times).
@Cowboy Bill — Does anyone ask you to do tricks, and have you? Talk about having to "perform" in a job interview.
I refer to The Elements of Style often and would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their written English. It's great as a quick (albeit dry) read (my 3rd edition is under 100 pages) or as a reference. For example, I can never remember the correct usage of 'comprise', but I know that pg. 43 of EoS will tell…
