The context in Tropic Thunder was that he was making fun of actors. One may not like the methods, but it looked clearly to be the point.

IDK, I’m not defending this but I’m pretty sure that when people heard “blackface” prior to, like, 2015 they were thinking about something more akin to Al Jolson putting shoe polish on his face, redding up his lips, and singing about “mammys” and shit, not people wearing realistic-ish makeup to do impressions. This is a wide generalization, but there seems to be a generation that holds high regard for some of the old movies TCM plays, people like Billy Crystal or even Lorne Michaels or old SNL guard like Jim Downey just grew up on those “classic movies” so it was okay if Fred Astaire did it.
That’s called “nuance” and it’s been dead for years.
There are a few instances - like Will Farrell as Goulet, Sarah Silverman as her idiot character on her show, or Tropic Thunder- where the horribleness is the point. That’s not to condone it or say it wasn’t a bad decision, but it feels (in my straight, white, male mind) less egregious than performers who treat it as…
Wait, why’s Fallon the one in trouble? Shouldn’t this fall on the execs, writers, showrunner, and station who encouraged and payed for it?
Staind Glass #1 and #2 from U Talkin’ U2 2 Me? and R U Talkin’ R.E.M. RE: Me?, respectively.

Dead Authors Podcast - Episode 45: L. Ron Hubbard
You forgot their Drop Dead Fred episode. It's hilarious and almost exhausting. I love the movie personally, I completely understand it's not great, but I do anyways. Which made me love JM more than I already do.
Don’t know if it’s available without a premium somewhere but
Wow this is lazy writing. Maybe do five minutes of research about the comics before shilling for them for our dime.

The Replacements are way better than Yes
There’s also a story of an axe in John Dies At the End that I may have subconsciously stole this thought from.
There are lots of groups where the lead singer is incidental or there are multiple singers. Look at Fleetwood Mac, almost none of the best known members were founders and there’s not one “lead singer”.
Legally, it’s solely about who has rights to the name.
Not to mention Devo’s historic appearance.
Is it odd that there’s no full list of all the stuff coming when it launches in a few days (not just movies and original shows)?
