I am with ya, I have enjoyed some of his songs over the years but have been horrified at who he grew to be. Wont be happy he is dead, but definitely not sad.
I had the misfortune of attending a Charlie Daniels gig. My college buddy and I, both potheads, got a little anxious when the crowd roared its approval for Daniels’ idea of hanging drug dealers.
In a year where we’ve lost Carl Reiner, Fred Willard, Jerry Stiller, Ennio Morricone, Ian Holm, Larry Kramer, Little Richard, and Kirk Douglas already I can’t generate much of a reaction for this guy.
I can think of nothing more shitty or pathetic than going out while tweeting about a stupid eight year old conspiracy theory. That’s got to be the social media equivalent of getting crushed by a vending machine while trying to shake a bag of chips loose.
Being a good country star with some awesome songs does not displace the fact that he was a right-wing turd burglar and I shed no tears for another fascist dead in the ground. I’ll still enjoy his songs but I’ll remember what a shitty person he was.
I worry that this will cause confusion with my YouTube channel about the best way to steal soft cheeses, Brie Larceny.
Her HotOnes interview was delightful. Its immediate surge of dislikes...isn’t.
Most of the examples of blackface being removed are either 100% harmless or are actually a commentary on racial dynamics and the stupidity of blackface. God this push this week to remove these particular episodes are dumb as fuck.
Pluto shows real world marathons on the mtv reality channel there.
Old enough to remember when The Real World actually had some merit and entertainment value to it. The fourth season set in London is genuinely enjoyable, and not just a bunch of dumb, drunk 20-year-olds yelling at each other for a summer like it was in later seasons. It also took place right after the drama-filled San…
So what are your favorite Unplugged albums?
Same with Pearl Jam—-if you don’t watch any other songs, watch the Porch and State of Love and Trust unplugged ones.
“ Rage Against The Machine’s Tim Commerford refused to come down from the scaffolding after his group lost to Limp Bizkit.”
This is one of the first CDs I ever owned; I got it after catching a rerun of MTV Unplugged. I signed up for one of those 1-cent Columbia House CD Club membership things. I remember getting my courage up to tell my mom that I forgot to cancel the trial and owed them $60. She told me they weren’t going to go after a…
They should have upgraded to Dixie Starship.
Same people who get angry at RATM for being woke. All they heard was “Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” and not the other lyrics.
I never really thought about the contradiction of my libertarian brother and his family being devout Trekkies, but you’re right, it is pretty weird.
Probably the same way paul fucking ryan can somehow enjoy Rage Against the Machine.
(Which is to say, I haven’t the foggiest idea.)
Libertarian trekkies wouldn’t really make much sense either.
