I have some ideas for names!

As humans we NEED [to make money from the irresponsible exploitation of] other human contact.”

Sounds like the MAGA version of the Fyre Festival.

has been organized by Wisconsin’s 107.5 FM radio station

I mean, at least one of the episodes the point of the joke is that JD gets tricked into blackface by Turk as a joke when going to a black fraternity and he gets beat up immediately for it when Turk isn’t around.

I’m writing a cop thriller where a hurricane expects criminals to distract the police while it does its work.

Mel Gibson *and* Emile Hirsch? I assume they also tried to get Kevin Spacey but he just wasn’t available?

I live in the midwest. My Republican congressman shows up once every two years (at best) to tell us how much he hates taxes are and how great a job he’s doing cutting (the apparently endless amounts of) “job-killing government regulations”. So I guess that’s what “paying attention to the Rust Belt” looks like.

Apparently crummy movie notwithstanding, Stewart’s run on The Daily Show was legitimately brilliant. But he was always prone to the old American satirist’s fallacy of the “common sense solutions.” There are clear answers to our biggest problems, and they’re not ideological or partisan, and we could pass them in a

As far as making jokes about Trump being tough is concerned, I will once again say that John Mulaney nailed it with “Horse Loose in a Hospital”. It avoids all the usual tiny-hand, orange-skin jokes and zeroes in on the pure absurdity not just of, as he puts it, “this guy being president”, but on everyone else trying

Yeah, I feel like with these kinds of things it’s usually better to slap a disclaimer on at the beginning.  “Hey, we thought this was funny and in the right at the time but now we realize its not and here’s why”

Yeah this movie seems like it was made for the 90s- not a decade where we’ve already learned how nasty many people in Middle America have become and how desperate others are.

I am fed up with the poor white people that Michael Moore and Bernie Sanders relentlessly chased. To see John Stewart also drink this Kool-Aid is maddening. They coddle these willfully ignorant people instead of calling them out for always voting against their own interests.

Still, it’s nice that she can still find work at her age.

Yeah, there is a lot of discussion about that in the comments. What there is not a lot of is talk about the blackface.

They got it wrong. He was not trying to show police brutality as much as he was caricaturing a certain brand of smart-ass, anti-government amateur lawyer libertarian ding dong, trying to show his audience of 17 year old basement trolls how much smarter he is about “his rights” than the cops are.

Interestingly, AV Club gave this episode of Bob and David an “A”.

30 Rock isn’t on Netflix anymore, at least not in the US. But I’ve been wondering about it as well, if this is going to end up as an all out ban on blackface. The thing is, the two Black Swans joke was the only one that didn’t lampshade the whole bit, and those three seconds could be cut from the episode without

Hey remember when Jon Hamm did blackface for the 30 Rock Live show? I thought it was funny, and even meaningful that the whole point of the sketch is that the network was scared of having more than one black lead in their tv shows (Kenneth: “A rule NBC still follows today!”).

What is ‘con-text’?
