Dick Bass vs. Patrick Morrow

I understand why this was an upsetting experience, but tattoo artists refuse jobs all the time for all sorts of reasons. Many have a no necks, no hands policy - it’s quite common. And, as you discovered, what’s off-limits to one artist is totally okay with another - you were able to get exactly what you wanted in the

Both are wealthy, but the UWS is more like bankers-and-lawyers-in-their-30s-and-40s wealthy, whereas the UES is (between 5th and Lex, at least) more like descended-from-someone-who-signed-the-Declaration-of-Independence wealthy. This is distinct from downtown (Soho, Tribeca, the Village, etc) which is more like

I didn’t want to make a maybe “she couldn’t help but wonder” joke, but I’m glad someone brought the levity.

I used to live in NYC and when I moved away for a rad job, my pals and co-workers in NYC acted like I was leaving the PLANET.

Congratulations, this fails as reporting, as snark, parody, as satire...

As a native Kentuckian (who once even spent a year working with George Clooney’s sister), let me politely invite you to go fuck yourself.

I think what misfires for me is that the humor ends up hitting some pretty classist targets on its way to being mean to Amal and George.

I do not know what to make of this article. It’s either in jest (poorly done) or just mean.

Whatever you were going for with the tone and voice of this article did not work.

Clooney always seems like a Gatsby to me. He looks so damn good and has curated this kinda air of old money. And then you remember he got started on TV, is from Kentucky, didn't finish college, and was a door to door salesman at some point. None of those things are BAD, but.. He married up for sure.

Land’s End is another one that’s turned into crap since Sears bought them out years ago. I used to buy everything from my daughter’s toddler sized clothes and everyone’s winter jackets to my ex’s polo shirts for his employees and the quality just started to get worse and worse while the prices went up.

YES! Its like J.Crew forgot that some women (gasp!) actually have hips! I tried on a pair of pants there this weekend and even going up 2 sizes from my normal size didn’t do a damn thing because I am curvy and there just was. not. space. for hips. Soooooo frustrating!

I do not understand this woman’s popularity. It baffles me.

But it seems to be true. JC Penney tried to get away from that and it got their CEO fired. I was super into it but apparently the majority of shoppers need the sales to justify buying things.

It’s not just that the prices have skyrocketed, it’s that the quality has tanked.

Grew up prep, so 80%+ of my wardrobe was J Crew. Now its all shit made for women who are 5’9” and built like Jenna Lyons. Which, cool and good for you guys, but I want my stretchy skinny cords and cashmere turtlenecks back, please.

It's probably that while the prices have risen, the quality has dropped considerably. I have a few older J.Crew items and they were made beautifully. The new stuff? Boxy, thinner materials, and a lot of unflattering styles.

YES, the sizing. I used to be a 6 at J Crew and somehow I am now a 0. I have not lost any weight, or shrunk, or developed an amazing fitness routine. It makes online shopping downright impossible, not that I can afford anything they sell anymore.

I am a JCrew devotee, have adequate disposable income to over-stuff my closet, and in the past year to year and a half, have added to that closet with (what should be) pricier brands that have better quality - Vince, DVF, Joie, Equipment. I don’t want my JCrew at those prices. I want my JCrew for basics. And for go-to
