Stories like this really highlight how different my school experience will be from my children’s. From age 7 to 13, I went to a boarding school where the teachers regularly beat the shit out of us, where public humiliation was one of the most widely-used punishments. It warms my heart to see how outraged people are by

The way they tell it, they got bored after spending 10-11 years doing nothing else but crank out Halo games. So they committed themselves to 10 years of Destiny (ie: MMO-Halo) instead. Sounds legit.

That’s partly because of how shitty the thumbsticks on the joycon are though. If the thumbsticks didn’t have such a large dead zone and steep response curve, it would be much easier to aim with them.

Also note her Triangle of Power (aka Merkel-Rhombus)

I guess I’ll fire it up with the wife to find out, then! Goodbye, next couple of weeks!

I think copy editors are going the way of the dodo in most online media. All the former-Gawker sites seem to have relied on comments section for copy editing since their founding though.

I guess we can reconvene this conversation after the next bout of independence referendums :p

I guess the weirdness for me is that it is inside the quotation marks, and I view “mum” and “mom” as different words - they sound significantly different and act as clear national identifiers for the speaker. Given that the speaker here is a member of a country’s royal family, I guess that exacerbates it a bit. Like

Because it makes a Prince of England sound like an American. It’s weird and distracting.

“I can safely say that losing my mom at the age of 12...”

If there’s a man more qualified to make obscenely gay games, I don’t know about him.

The music in most of those trailers is impressively terrible. Especially since so many of those films have such iconic original scores.

It’s just not a very Zelda-ish system. When I think of a Zelda game, two things are really important to that image:

They have writers on staff and gameplay/design on staff, and if those are the same people they’re a weird company. It’s more a question of pulling people off of DLC or whatever their next project is.

I’ve not yet played Andromeda - but for a Bioware game I think it’s in their interest to make it more LGBT-friendly. They’ve carved themselves a niche there, and it’s been their main selling point for years now. Their gameplay has always been shite (except ME3 multiplayer, surprisingly), but their writing has been

Well I hate the face I made for my main, so I’d rather not. Give me something fresh!

People talk smack about her face

I wouldn’t put it that strongly - her character is more of a cypher than the others, so everything has to be much more subtle. She reminds me of a lot of scarred people I know in real life, all of whom only have that same single facial expression too. Although the bitterness that is only nascent in Woodley’s character
